| Gong Scourers Manic Morris side is an open to all side. We follow
the "Border" regime of dances, originating in the English/Welsh
border area. we dance at various festivals and shows mainly in Kent,
Surrey, Essex and Sussex, with the occasional long-run to Dorset
etc. We have in the past been all over the country appearing as
guest dancers. Morris dancing is a good way to keep fit, socialise
and visit other areas of the country, often for the weekends.
Gong Scourers Morris as a side are very supportive of it's members, who come from varied backgrounds. Based at Crayford centre, we try and fund raise for the centre and other charities. Members supply their own clothing or "tatters" as they are known. More ever the side provide the sticks used for dances, as they have to be of the correct type. Lifts to venues are usually available for those without transport. The dance season runs from May 1st to September, when practice nights start again ready for the next season. Dancers and folk musicians always welcomed.
